Taming the Mind & Finding Freedom: An Introduction to Meditation
The practice of meditation allows the mind to rest and to express its natural warmth and clarity. Nationally recognized meditation teacher, Tim Olmsted, will present an evening’s introduction to the practice of meditation that’s at the very heart of many contemplative traditions. This instruction will be relevant to new as well as experienced students of any spiritual tradition. Everyone is warmly invited.
Tim has been deeply engaged in meditation training for the past 50 years, studying with many of the greatest teachers of our time. In 1994, after 12 years in Nepal, Tim moved to Steamboat and founded The Buddhist Center of Steamboat Springs. He has served as the director of Gampo Abbey, a Buddhist monastery located in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Tim is a senior instructor of
Tergar International, a worldwide meditation community, and is the founder and president of The Pema Chödrön Foundation.
