Welcome to
The Buddhist Center of Steamboat Springs
The Buddhist Center was founded in 1996 by Tim Olmsted in an effort to share the Buddha’s teachings and support those who were already practicing Buddhism, or other spiritual teachings in the community of the Yampa Valley and beyond.
Join us each Monday at 6:30 MT for live teachings in person and on Zoom.

Teachings
The BCSS Community meets weekly at 6:30 in the labyrinth room at the Heart of Steamboat Methodist Church and online via Zoom.
We record and publish these teachings weekly. This collection is a great way for newcomers to learn more and also a vast reference for anyone exploring the path.
In addition to the Monday night teachings, BCSS offers a variety of other opportunities for further study.

Our Lineage
The Buddhist Center is guided by the Buddha’s teachings in general, and by the Buddhist tradition as it was passed down through the great scholars and meditators of Tibet.
Tim has been a student of the teachings since meeting his first teacher Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche in Boulder, Colorado in the mid-70’s and he continues to build upon these experiences and share them with our local sangha.
Since meeting Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche and moving to Nepal to study with him in 1981, Tim has been a student of Tulku Urgyen and his three sons, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, Tsoknyi Rinpoche and Mingyur Rinpoche.
We invite you to learn more about the rich traditions from which we draw our inspiration. -

And thoroughly tame your mind.
